Program Updates and Announcements |
As we enter the third quarter of 2021, we have made several updates and enhancements to the Energy Savings for Business Program. |
Energy Savings for Business |
■ |
Reminder: When completing an energy efficiency project through the Energy Savings for Business Program, please remember to download a new worksheet from the website (if applicable). It is always best to first open the webpage in incognito mode to ensure that you are seeing the newest version of the document. |

Prescriptive |
■ |
New measures for the Prescriptive Program have been officially added to Sightline. For more information about incentives and eligibility criteria, please check out the updated Pepco
and Delmarva Power technical sheets. |
■ |
Reminder: It is currently peak cooling season. If you need an emergency HVAC replacement, get same-day pre-approval for HVAC incentives under $15,000 through the Pepco and Delmarva Power Prescriptive Programs. For a complete incentive list, please see the Pepco
and Delmarva Power HVAC technical sheets. |
|
■ |
Popular HVAC incentives include unitary HVAC equipment, which meets minimum efficiency requirements and is eligible for incentives of up to $200 per ton. This includes air conditioners up to 5 tons, rated at 16 SEER and above. |

Building Tune-up |
■ |
Due to changes in the measurement and verification process, the Pepco and Delmarva
Power Building Tune-up Programs are now mandating the use of “smart” instruments, with the TSI AP-500 Velocity Meter as a minimum requirement. |
■ |
Additionally, rooftop units serviced in the HVAC Tune-up Program must be tested at a minimum ambient temperature of 70ºF. To test the units, you must run the system at full-load for both pre- and post-tests. Do not pre-test at part-load operation, then clean and post-test at full-load operation. |
■ |
If you are doing HVAC maintenance as part of a Full Building Tune-up, Small Building Tune-up, HVAC Tune-up, or Monitoring-Based Commissioning project, please see all required data points below that must be collected at the time of service: |

Project of the Quarter |
Congratulations to HBS Solutions Inc. for having the Project of the Quarter for their work with Marriott Suites in Bethesda, Maryland. This project, completed through Pepco’s Large Building Tune-up Program, helped the 244,000-square-foot hotel tune up their air handling units (AHUs), heat recovery rooftop units, and fan coil units. They also scheduled their AHUs with programmable thermostats and optimized the differential pressure setpoint in the hot water pump. |
This massive three-phase project helped Marriott Suites save a total of $60,400 on project costs, thanks to Pepco’s incentives. With their new energy efficiency optimizations, the hotel has also saved 140,901 kWh and approximately $16,990 in annual energy costs. |
Think you could be the next Project of the Quarter? Submit your Q2 2021 project nominations to Shira.Singer@icf.com for a chance to be featured in a future newsletter. |
