Program Updates and Reminders
|
Cycle Reminder |
Remember that the current EmPOWER Maryland programs’ funding cycle (2021–2023) ends this year. Please continue to encourage customers to submit upcoming projects for pre-approval to lock in funding for 2023.
|
Over the course of the year, Delmarva Power and Pepco will work with the Public Service Commission and other stakeholders to shape the future of EmPOWER Maryland programs. Keep an eye out for the 2024 budgets, which will be released in December 2023. |
Business Instant Discounts |
Incentives on select LED screw-in lamps and MR16 lamps will be discontinued as of April 1, 2023. This comes as a result of incandescent bulbs no longer being manufactured as of Jan. 1, 2023, due to changes in federal regulations. |
To help you take advantage of these savings on LED lamps, Delmarva Power and Pepco currently offer limited-time increases on the current incentives before they expire (see table below). So, now’s the perfect time for customers to complete a light bulb change-out or to stock up on energy-saving LEDs at discount prices. |
Please let your customers know about this upcoming change and encourage them to make their purchases now while discounts are still available. Visit the Delmarva Power
or Pepco website to find a qualified commercial distributor or to see a full list of discounted energy-efficient lighting products. |

Project of the Quarter
|
Congratulations to Henry Adams Consulting Engineers LLC on receiving the Project of the Quarter for their recent work with Cecil County Public Library in North East, Maryland. This project, completed through the Delmarva Power Energy Savings for Business program, encompassed a variety of custom new construction measures, which included modern-form, architectural LED lighting and state-of-the-art
HVAC installation. By utilizing a dedicated outdoor air system equipped with energy recovery and a hot gas reheat feature, the library’s new variable refrigerant flow system can save significant energy compared to the conventional baseline of a standard variable-air-volume system. |
Thanks to these upgrades, Cecil County Public Library received more than $120,000 in incentives and will now save 391 MWh each year. |
Think you could have the next MLB Project of the Quarter? Submit your project nominations to Rachel.Carrier@icf.com for consideration to be featured in the next newsletter. |
